As a part of our development of the Red Brangus Cattle, we also breed Black Brangus Cattle. We develop Black Brangus who are red gene carriers by breeding Red Brangus bulls to our Black Brangus cows. This produces red gene carriers who are are bred to Red Brangus bulls. We started this breeding program in 2007 and have used several leading Brangus bulls in the development of these Cattle. As a result of the development of red gene carrying females, we have developed some excellent Black Brangus bulls. These Bulls are available to Cattlemen to improve their herds. These bulls will normally produce Black Brangus calves. In some cases, if a cow has a red gene, the calves will be red colored. This is demonstrated by the recently born red heifer 060Z whose dam is black! See pictures of 060Z in the Classifieds.

Luke William Price was born at 5:37 pm on 1-2-12. His parents are Vince and Tracee Price our daughter and son-in-law. Here are some pictures of our new grandson.

Chief Cardinal 847/G - Two Time Grand Champion Red Brangus Bull

Chief Cardinal was Buffaloe Cattle Company's resident herd sire. "Chief" produced the "Champion Get of Sire" in more shows the decade between 2000 and 2010 than any other Red Brangus bull. Without a doubt, he is one of the superior bulls in the Red Brangus Breed. We have many Chief Cardinal daughters in our herd  and they produce outstanding calves. We continue to use him in our AI and Embryo Programs. In addition, we have a Chief Cardinal Son (BCC MACHO 124W) and two Grandsons that serve our females.

One of Chief's granddaughters, Ms RS Buffaloe 8W is shown below. Another granddaughter who is sired by Rocky Street sold in the Divas in Red Sale in College Station in May 2010. Several of his daughters are champion females including BCC Ms TELA 307L shown below and BCC Chief's Squaw 7P shown in the Females and Embryos section of the website. His genetics are in high demand in the Red Brangus breed and CX Excalibur and Buffaloe Cattle Co. are currently using his semen in our AI and Embryo Programs.

SUREWAY'S ROCKY STREET 227N (IBBA # RR603167) was named the IBBA Show Sire of the year in 2007/2008 at the Brangus Futurity in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He was again crowned Show Sire of the year in 2008/2009 at the Brangus Futurity in West Monroe, Louisiana. SUREWAY'S ROCKY STREET 227N and his semen was purchased for $25,000.00 at private treaty by Buffaloe Cattle Co. and Triangle K Farm, each owning 1/2 interest and 1/2 possession.

The renowned ROCKY STREET is one of the superior and most exciting bulls in Red Brangus today, with top progeny in herds in several countries. He is sired by Talento de Rockbrook with excellent milk and maternal traits. His dam is sired by Easy Street of Brinks, a longtime carcass trait leader in Brangus. ROCKY STREET combines an excellent genetic package, strong performance and EPDs, as well as an outcross to most Red Brangus lines. Rocky Street also sired one of the best bulls in Red Brangus which is Sureway's Legacy 060S.

In addition to the outstanding phenotype cattle that are produced by Rocky Street, his calves have extremely high Intermuscular Fat scores of  over 5% in several calves in the 2011 Ultrasound Scans. His progeny also have very large high rib eye per 100 # measurements with the ratio in the 1.25 to 1.29 range. This bull will add performance and marbling as well as producing an eye appealing cattle. We invite you to come to the ranch and see his progeny. Vince Price '03, who is Tracee's husband, is on top. Lissa graduated from Texas A&M, with her class, in May 2009.
